 JOB DESCRIPTION: 
 The LAN/Network Support Technician will support multiple locations nation-wide on the Technology Operations and Maintenance Infrastructure Support (DHS) Contract. Responsible for complex installation and configuration of network hardware, and software; troubleshoots and provides technical support to end-users.
 
 PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems for DHS Contract while utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques; Installs and configures network hardware and software; Provides network troubleshooting and support; Provides technical support and training to end-users; Administers network security; Sets up new users and deletes old users from the network; Provides complex server maintenance; Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned; Participates in special projects as required. 
 

 Associates Degree in a technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certification and training, or work experience; Bachelors Degree preferred. 

 Requires 2-5 years of related experience in network support and a thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support; Thorough knowledge of modems, data scopes, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and network management software; Thorough knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications. 
 
 May require certification in one or more specific applications (such as MCSE, MCSA, CNE, CNA), depending on job assignment.
