THIS IS A PROJECT JOB OF APPROXIMATELY 36 MONTHS
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As part of a team, support all application development interaction with databases for Project Phoenix. Work closely with project teams and vendors to facilitate development and implementation initiatives. Attend all project meetings to advise and assist with data issues as needed. Support application planning by providing information on current database logical infrastructure and collaborating on the planning of logical infrastructure enhancements. Review data models for adherence to business requirements and established data standards. Review scripts to create database objects and execute scripts in development environments. Investigate currently unused and emerging data management technologies to determine if they can be effectively used for Project Phoenix. Plan strategy and architecture for data source interoperability, archiving and movement of data, auditing user actions that modify data, and converting data from one source to another. Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Technical Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
3+ years experience with Relational modeling
Broad database and application skill set
3+ years experience using Oracle
Hands-on experience tuning large database systems (transactional databases, data warehouses, etc.) in a client-server software architecture
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with data encryption and security methods
Experience supporting .Net applications using ODP.Net
Experience with Service Oriented Architectures
Business Intelligence toolsets
Other Qualifications:
Preferred minimum of 3+ years experience designing, developing, implementing very large database (VLDB) architectures: data and object modeling, data mapping, metadata, and repository creation. Proven experience with large data management systems across all architectural components/layers (ETL, data access layer, front end) is mandated.
Must have experience with the full system lifecycle for application development.
Must be able to facilitate business requirements analysis through joint application development (JAD), must possess excellent conversion skills, perform Entity Relationship, Data Warehouse and Mart modeling, Data Architectural skills, Database design trade-offs, create data dictionaries, metadata message formats, and analysis/design.
Demonstrated ability to analyze existing information/ application architecture models and recommend, design, create and implement alternatives to methodology.
Design and manage data and metadata migrations and its data delivery components.
Must be able to comprehend strategic business analysis.
