 Job Description: Responsibilities 

Design, development, & simulation of single phase & poly phase electricity meters including RF circuit design & testing. Mixed signal circuit design & test. Experience in designing & conducting system & field validation testing for electricity metering & communications products. Utilize analog & digital simulation tools for metering & AMI applications. Design analog/digital circuits for a high volume low cost metering & RF communications technologies that operate in the 900 MHz band. Antenna design for low power RF radios.* Lead the documentation of key design practices. * Champion product safety & regulatory product requirements.* Lead analysis of field failures & manufacturing yield issues to provide plans for continuous product improvement.* Execute & provide guidance for the analysis/evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices & procedures & the product/program requirements. * Translate market requirements & needs into technology requirements.* Define & develop product processes related to design, analysis, test, materials, manufacture, quality, product safety, &/or productivity. * Improve new product introduction process.* Lead technical reviews & participate as a reviewer. * Drive the enforcement of key engineering design practices.* Cognizant on emerging technologies in the metering & AMI market. * Participate in defining long-range & strategic technology development.* Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects &/or tasks consistent with engineering policies & procedures.* Develop action plans to anticipate & respond to technical issues in existing product designs as well as in new product development.* Provide expert judgment & analysis for the design, development & implementation of electronic watt-hour metering products & systems.* Resolves highly complex technical issues & conducts advanced research. Qualifications 

* BSEE, BS in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, RF/Communications Engineering or Systems Engineering.* Minimum of 10 years of technical design experience, followed by a minimum of 3 years technical leadership experience in electronics design.Eligibility Requirements:* You must submit your application for employment through gecareers.com to be considered. * You must be 18 years or older.* You must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process.* You must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.* You must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.* If currently a GE employee, you must have been in your current position for at least 12 months & have at least a satisfactory performance rating. * Must work closely with other business to develop functional design specifications for metering & AMI products. * Demonstrated success in leading & managing teams & individuals on complex projects.* Deep experience with the design of metering products (ANSI & IEC).* Strong understanding of business processes (NPI, MGPP, SI, SII, SC).* Six Sigma Green Belt Certified (GE only).* Leads & directs work of others.* Recommends alterations to development & design to improve quality of products &/or procedures.* Mentor/guide junior engineering personnel to improve technical capabilities & value to the business.* Interface with Design, Materials, Quality, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Services, Global Research, Suppliers & others as required.* Demonstrated experience in ANSI (IEC also desired) metering applications & products, both electro-mechanical metering and solid state metering products.* Proficient PC skills including electrical & mechanical design tools and standard documentation & communication tools.* Understanding of Electricity Metering technologies, & RF Communications technologies as applied to Automatic Metering Infrastructure AMI.* Superior analytical skills & communication skills.* Experience, designing low cost current sensing technologies for high volume electricity metering applications.* Complete/lead teams in execution of all phases of product.* Experience in designing & conducting system & field validation testing for electricity metering & communications products. * Experience developing & utilizing Six Sigma tools (FMEA, QFD, DFE) - Green Belt or Black Belt desirable.* Experience in working with suppliers of equipment, services, & products in related field.* Experience with developing embedded firmware in C+ & utilizing test & simulation tools such as Labview & MatLab desirable.* Knowledge of ANSI/IEC metering C12.x standards & FCC communications regulations for wireless communications desired. General
