Position SummaryKnowledgeable in restaurant supply chain with emphasis on developing, implementing and maintaining quality assurance and food safety at the supplier, distribution, and restaurant levels. This includes development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure high quality and food safety in the products served by Chipotle restaurants. Main AccountabilitiesIn addition to following Chipotle’s policies and procedures, main accountabilities are as follows:• Oversees the processes ensuring that food products are prepared to Chipotle’s standards by our suppliers • Helps develop and maintain food product specifications • Maintains current recipes and suppliers’ production formulas • Performs inspections of suppliers’ facilities and preparation procedures • Monitors suppliers’ compliance to Chipotle’s specifications and standards • Establishes programs and conducts regular evaluations of Chipotle’s food products and provides feedback and direction to suppliers • Communicates suppliers’ performance to Purchasing leadership • Provides support for supplier process and product improvement activities • Assists with evaluation of potential new suppliers for Chipotle with respect to products, production facilities, and fit • Monitors and takes corrective action on restaurant and customer food product complaints • Reviews and updates restaurant food safety and HACCP programs as needed and works with Training to keep food safety training materials current • Develops and implements food safety audit procedures for restaurants in coordination with Risk,Safety/Security and Operations • Works as a liaison with health departments in conjunction with Area Manager • Works as a liaison between restaurants and distribution centers and suppliers, as needed • Works with purveyors, follow-up calls/letters and orders • Depending on the needs of the business and/or department, may complete other duties as assigned to advance a particular project or resolve a business issue QualificationsEducation/Training• B.A./B.S. in related field or equivalent in education and experience • Food Safety/QA education desirableKnowledge/Skills• PC proficiency • Proficiency with MS Office SuiteWork Experience• At least 3 years experience in a restaurant or food industry • Previous QA/Food Safety experience preferred • Operational experience is desirableRequirementsTravel• Occasional (with some periods of frequent travel possible)
