A Quality Assurance Engineer is required for a manufacturing company in Southern NH. Reporting to the department manager, this hands-on role will oversee and maintain the company's ISO-9001:2000 and AS9100 quality systems for delivery of its state-of-the-art sensor products for military, aerospace, power generation and industrial applications.

Successful candidate will have, as a minimum, an undergraduate degree in an Engineering discipline, will have previous experience in a similar position and be hands-on in their day to day approach. Plans, coordinates, and directs quality control programs designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff:
1. Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
2. Formulates and maintains quality control objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals. Interprets quality control philosophy to key personnel in organization.
3. Creates and implements inspection criteria and procedures. Coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs. Provides inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.
4. Applies total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes within each department. Plays active role on quality management teams within organization. Designs and implements quality control training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers. Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products. Works with vendors to insure quality of all purchased parts for company use. Visit and confer with representatives of material and component vendors to obtain information related to product quality, capacity of vendor to meet orders, and vendor quality procedures.
5. Assure purchased and manufactured parts and materials meet required specifications. Detect and prevent defects form occurring in manufacturing, processing, assembly and testing operations.
6. Assure customers receive good's as ordered and provide and enforce a system for detecting and correcting quality deficiencies. Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.
7. Conduct meetings with quality assurance department personnel to establish, delineate, and review program policies, to coordinate functions and operations between departments, and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
8. Maintain QA policy consistent with company policies. A team member of Material Review Board, Reliability and Management Representative for ISO 9001 Quality System. Review technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
9. Perform or delegate purchase order review, sales order/contract review, vendor surveillance, analysis of customer complaints and goods returned for defective quality, review of sales proposals for quality requirements.
10. Confer with engineers about quality assurance plans for new products designed and manufactured products on market to rectify problems. Review technical publications, articles, and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in industry.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of 
1. Auto Cad 2000 Design software and Manufacturing software.
2. Computer literacy a must and some programming experience helpful.
3. Proficiency in a variety of software applications to include: Excel, word, and Power Point. Experience in Math Cadd and Lab View also helpful. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and product drawings.
4. Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and mathematical operations.
5. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and government contracts.
6. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Education Requirement
Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautic or Electrical Engineering.
5 or more years experience in quality assurance management function in a manufacturing environment
degree from four-year college or university and one to three years related experience and/or training.
