Job Position Details

Job Title: In Flow Manager

Location: Philadelphia, PA

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: 
Secure the coordination and efficient operations of the In Flow Team resulting in agreed goods availability for customer at the lowest possible cost and to secure IKEA as the best home furnishings company in the local market.

ASSIGNMENT
? Manage the day-to-day operations, activities and staff of the In Flow Team, including recruitment, retention, scheduling, performance management, succession planning and competence development.

? Plan, organize, monitor, and improve goods In Flow processes from receiving to sales location replenishment fulfilling the goal to be fully stocked and ready for the customer prior to store opening.

? Optimize the utilization of existing store logistics capacities (Space / Equipment / People).

? Provide input to Logistics Manager regarding store logistic capacity requirements (Space / Equipment / People).

? Follow up the “Global Service Agreement DS/Retail” and give input about deviations to improve the total supply chain cost (regarding loading quality, fill rate, arrival precision).

? Minimize local-local shortages ensuring high availability for customers to support the IKEA Customer Promise.

? Evaluate and ensure action is taken to improve goods In Flow operations resulting in minimized store logistics costs and increased productivity.

? Establish strong partnerships with matrix organizations to achieve the location’s business goals.

? Work in partnership with the Sales Management Team and the Communication & Interior Design Management Team to secure and improve efficient goods in-flow, and the planning and implementation of the commercial calendar to include activities and peak day planning.

? Maintain the Store Goods Flow system in accordance to agreed routines/procedures including Basic Actions.

? Support the inventory process.

? Secure the volume resources planning for the goods In Flow areas and communicate the volume demands.
 
? Ensure that Basic Actions are monitored, maintained and co-workers are knowledgeable of and performing their responsibilities in the In Flow areas.

? Meet the needs of co-workers and customers with flexible and efficient department scheduling.

? Attract, develop, and inspire co-workers by realizing the Human Resource Idea to become the best retailer to work for.
 
? Establish, implement, review and update plans to secure ongoing development of competence and succession within your function and location.

? Contribute as a member of the Logistics Management Team and lead your co-workers.

? Use information, knowledge and available resources to educate co-workers about logistics processes.
 
? Partner with managers to influence and support overall positive working environment to include actions to secure efficient logistics operations and a positive shopping experience for visitors.

? Represent the IKEA brand to co-workers and customers serving as an example of the IKEA values and principles.
 
? Serve as a logistics function expert and communicate and provide training for co-workers about efficient goods flow at IKEA to include any technical systems and/or processes necessary.

? Establish and maintain positive team and management relationships and an open line of communication for co-workers.

? Contribute as a dynamic, action-oriented team player that is self-motivated and confident in making decisions utilizing independent judgment.
 
? Ensure clean, organized work areas following waste management guidelines and safety requirements.

? Maintain advanced knowledge of your subject area to perform at a level to meet or exceed the expectations of the customer and management and to serve as a model for your co-workers.

? Perform store leadership actions/activities, such as Duty Manager shifts , opening functions, and team meetings.

? Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur.

 Requirements COMPETENCE
Knowledge/Experience:
? Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or related field; or High School Diploma and Logistics related certificate and/or relevant IKEA experience.

? 3 years IKEA supervisory experience, preferably in Logistics or 3-5 years external supervisory/management experience preferably in retail, services, and/or a distribution environment.

? Proven experience in detecting efficiency opportunities and applying solutions to decrease costs without compromising IKEA values, Commercial Review standards, while maintaining compliance with all Federal, State, and Local legislation and store safety standards.

? Previous experience with logistics power equipment (forklift certification required within 1 year).

? Computer aptitude – including Microsoft applications and internal IKEA systems; advanced proficiency with MS Excel & MS Word preferred.

? Knowledge and understanding of and a passion for IKEA values and principles.

? Knowledge of the IKEA Brand and logistics such that you are a subject matter expert and can develop competence in co-workers.

? Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

? Strong attention to detail and analytical skills in order to monitor, review, and implement actions to improve logistics operations.

? Interest in Home Furnishings

? Fluent in English (written and verbal skills)
