GENERAL SUMMARY: Analyzes existing systems and defines, designs, and develops new system requirements for military use; works under general supervision; performs additional duties as assigned.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Performs engineering work concerned with the design, evaluation, planning, testing and operation of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and/or computer components, equipment and systems for military use.
2.Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
3.Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies.
4.Gathers and correlates engineering data.
5.Performs various tests and documents results.
6.Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance as required.
7.Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
8.Participates in special projects as required.
1.Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work/military experience.
1.Typically requires 2-5 years of related engineering experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1.Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques involved in military-related systems engineering.
2.Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, equipment, and systems.
SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Working knowledge of Visual Basic, C++ and C#
2. Familiarization with CMM and CMMI
3. Working knowledge of Windows NT 4.0, Win 2K and XP OS environments
4. Works well in a team environment
5. Willing to travel
6. Electric power plant knowledge would be a plus
WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment.
