Title: Packaging QA Technician – All Facilities Reports to: QA Supervisor POSITION OBJECTIVES Red Gold employees are truly a component of the company’s success in the market. This position is responsible for Quality Assurance/control duties in the Packaging area. This includes: monitoring multiple quality and accuracy attributes on running lines to specification, communicating out of specification situations, documentation, and quality control as needed. Also, responsible for operations, when assigned, dud detectors, and spoilage research associated with such. Due to the dynamic nature of our business, duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Monitoring quality and accuracy attributes in the Packaging area on work in process and finished good for all label lines in operation. • Move from line to line in a scheduled fashion, observing, collecting samples, and inspecting to specification all primary and secondary packaging. • Insuring that all shop order instructions are being followed. • Responsible for the set up, when assigned, and operation of each dud detector. Operates a regular schedule of inspection of parameters and rejects to insure accurate and efficient operations. Communication of results on various reports and to management. Problem solving as needed. Sanitation of the machinery and areas. • Researches spoilage events, documenting or communicating as necessary. • Documentation of all QA Packaging historical records. • Communication, Decision Making, and Corrective Action for out of Specification Situations as required. • Able to do Projects, QA Lab Testing, Paste Testing, Purchased Product, or other assignments as time permits. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education • High School Diploma, General Educational Development Diploma (GED) or equivalent experience Specific Skills Required • Should have working knowledge of QA/Lab operations or be trainable. • Must demonstrate ability to be observant, detail-oriented, and team player. ATTENTION TO DETAIL is a REQUIRED attribute. • Must have good communication skills both written and verbal. • Must be able to work securely on own with minimal supervision. • Must have some knowledge of the current coding and inventory control systems, and the general operation of the plant. • Must have ability to learn complete theory and operations of Dud Detectors. • Must work directly and indirectly with QA, Packaging, and Production Personnel. • Must work safely and adhere to quality standards. • Any Computer skills benefit.
