Job Title: Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist

Location: Cleveland, TN

Eaton Corporation located in Cleveland, TN has an opening for an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist.

The EHS Specialist will provide knowledge and support to the warehouse departments in Cleveland, TN insuring that the warehouse is operated in an environmentally safe manner with regard to all Federal, State, Local Environmental and Safety Regulations and Eaton’s Management of Environmental, Safety and Health (MESH) requirements. The individual will provide world-class safety performance, contributes to the growth of the business, and support a continuous improvement culture throughout the organization. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conduct safety training for new employees and current employees in compliance with company policy, State and Federal laws.
· Plan and implement environmental and safety policies, which comply with regulations and keep management informed of current status of all items.
· Ensure proper records are developed and maintained per Federal, State and Local 
· Government regulations and company policies.
· Compile and update information for all EHS programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.
· Ensure storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes and materials is done in compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations.
· Research and develop waste reduction systems to minimize waste volumes.
· Maintain all files of MSDSs for all materials used within this facility.
· Maintain and update fire protection, emergency preparedness, lockout/tagout, Hazardous Communication, and Waste Management plans as required by Federal, State, and Local regulations. 
· Plan and coordinate training programs regarding these issues.
· Compile and maintain energy reports for the entire facility.
· Serve as chairperson for Safety Committee and Environmental Management Steering Committee.
· Develop, implement, and maintain an effective and proactive plant ergonomics program.
· Coordinate with Third Party Administrator for Worker’s Compensation administration, including completion of proper paperwork, case investigation, and return to work initiatives.
· Develop, monitor and maintain the Facility Pollution Prevention Plan. Report progress to state EPA annually.
· Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA requirements.
· Research, design, implement and conduct training program for safety.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s Degree or experience in Industrial Health and Safety, Environmental Science or related field preferred.
· 2 years of experience in program management or related discipline.
· Experience in manufacturing / warehouse environment helpful.
· Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of the organization.
· Knowledge and understanding of how to obtain state, local and federal regulations and how to apply them.
· Knowledge of and ability to apply State of Tennessee Workers Compensation laws preferred.
· Knowledge of ISO 14001 standard and how to maintain conformance to the standard is helpful.
