Job Description: Responsibilities
Technical leadership of F-Class Combustion System responsibilities including; Field Issue Resolution and NPI, Corrective Action and Sustaining Program execution. Identify and maintain F-Class Combustion technical requirements (assembly, durability, emissions, fuel flexibility, maintenance, manufacturability, operability and repair) by working with the Accessories, Combustion ATO, Combustion COE, Controls and Operability teams. Insure all Engineering, Reliability, Quality and Validation requirements are satisfied for all F-Class Combustion initiatives. Lead System Design Reviews and Validation Planning for all Combustion initiatives. Lead F-Class Combustion technology roadmap to support Long Term Product and Services Plan.Support F-Class Systems Engineering team in the execution of Combustion initiatives. Qualifications
* Minimum of 8+ years experience in gas turbine combustion design and development.*Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Aero Engineering.* Working knowledge of Combustion aero and/or mechanical design tools.* Detailed knowledge of combustion manufacturing, validation and qualification requirements.* If currently a GE Employee must have been in current position for at least 18 months and have at least a satisfactory performance rating. * Advanced degree (MS) in Mechanical or Aero Engineering. * Engineering program graduate, Edison or ACDP.* Six Sigma DFSS Black Belt Certified (GE employees only).* Prior experience as a GE Energy F-Class Gas Turbine Combustion Design Engineer.* Working knowledge of F-Class Gas Turbine Operability and Controls.* Systems Engineering or Project Management Experience* Detailed knowledge of GE Energy F-Class Gas Turbine product line (Frame 6, 7 and 9) and combustion systems (DLN2, 2+ 2.6 and 2.6+).* Working knowledge of Combustion Design Practices and ISO Procedures.* Demonstrated team building, leadership and interpersonal skills.* Strong project management and communication (written and verbal) skills. This posting is for a Senior Professional Combustion System Engineer for the F-Class Thermal Systems Hot Section Engineering team. Applicants must have demonstrated experience in Combustion design (Aero and/or Mechanical).
