Job Description: Responsibilities
Provide engineering support for F-Class (FA & FB) Turbine System responsibilities including; Field Issue Resolution and NPI, Corrective Action and Sustaining Program execution. Identify and maintain F-Class Turbine design requirements (assembly, clearances, life, maintenance, manufacturability, performance and repair) by working with the Hot Gas Path COE, Structures CoE, Rotor COE, Heat Transfer, Aero, Clearances, Performance, and Secondary Flow teams. Insure all Engineering, Reliability, Quality and Validation requirements are satisfied for all Turbine System initiatives. Lead System Design Reviews and Validation Planning for all Turbine initiatives. Contribute to the development of the F-Class Turbine technology roadmap to support Long Term Product and Services Plan.Support F-Class Systems Engineering team in the execution of Turbine initiatives. Qualifications
* Minimum 5+ years experience in gas turbine hot gas path design and development.* Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Aero Engineering.* Working knowledge of Hot Gas Path Aero, Mechanical and/or Heat Transfer design tools.* Detailed knowledge of Turbine System (Bucket, Nozzle, Shrouds, Rotors, Casings) Manufacturing, Validation and Qualification Requirements.* If currently a GE Employee must have been in current position for at least 18 months and have at least a satisfactory performance rating. * Masters degree in Mechanical or Aero Engineering. * Engineering program graduate, Edison or ACDP.* Six Sigma DFSS Black Belt Certified (GE employees only).* Prior experience as a GE Energy F-Class Gas Turbine Hot Gas Path, Turbine Rotor or Turbine Casing Design Engineer.* Working knowledge of F-Class Gas Turbine Combustion Systems and Operability.* Systems Engineering or Project/Program Management Experience.* Detailed knowledge of GE Energy F-Class Gas Turbine product line (Frame 6, 7 and 9) and turbine technology evolution (F, FA, FA+, FA+e, FB).* Working knowledge of Turbine Design Practices (Hot Gas Path, Heat Transfer, Rotor, Casing, Clearances.) and ISO Procedures.* Demonstrated team building, leadership and interpersonal skills. * Strong project management and communication (written and verbal) skills.
