JOB PURPOSE: Review, research and resolve problems and errors concerning the health record number,the electronic health record,the paper health record,and the CMS/HealthConnect/KARE/RRS databases. Issue new health record numbers and be a part of the team that preserves the integrity of the patient's personal medical and demographic information.

1 year experience HIM File Services. Basic knowledge of Medical Terminology I with a passing grade of C or above. Working knowledge of the Principles of Confidentiality. Working knowledge of chart order and familiar with forms approved for inclusion in the health record. Working knowledge of the KP systems(Common Systems, KARE,RRS,EPIC/Healthconnect). Working knowledge of a PC in a windows environment. Ability to read, decipher,interpret and draw conclusions from health record notes, both paper and electronic. Ability to clearly speak, read, write and clearly understand English. Ability to handle angry callers in a calm and effective manner. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Must demonstrate warmth, cultural competence and responsiveness to customer needs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 3 years experience HIM Files Services. Working knowledge of the Regional Release of Information Guidelines. Working knowledge of the following systems, EPIC/Healthconnect, Results Reporting, KATS, and Common Membership. Working knowledge of Medical Terminology I. Working knowledge of the Principles of Responsibility. Excellent problem solving skills.
HOURS/SHIFT: This position is 20 hrs per week. Saturday & Sunday 1:30pm to 12:00 am.
PASSING A BACKGROUND CHECK AS WELL AS A DRUG SCREEN IS REQUIRED FOR ALL EXTERNAL HIRES.
