General Dynamics C4 Systems' Communications Networks Division provides defense and government customers with radios and leading edge communications capabilities. Software Defined and Cognitive Radio technologies and standards have been pioneered here since the early 1990s and have positioned us as a world leader in defense communication systems of the future. We cover the full spectrum of communications, including widely fielded radio systems and products used for handheld, manpack, maritime and fixed site communications. Successes in Fleet Command & Control Systems, Air Traffic Control, Combat Search and Rescue, and Tactical Ground Force radio communications have made us a trusted provider of mission-specific communications solutions. Special emphasis is placed on development of communications technologies, real time software, leading edge component and future radio products for next-generation battlefields.
The candidate will use project specific guidelines, style sheets, tools, and processes to prepare user-focused documentation within cost and schedule objectives. This position is responsible for development and delivery of high-quality interactive electronic technical manuals (IETMs) and interactive multimedia training products for government end users. You will make use of, and extend your expertise in applying advanced technologies and tools to convert SGML and non-SGML technical manual inputs to produce various conforming SGML and XML IETM products.
Bachelor's Technology Degree or Bachelor's Degree in an engineering support discipline (e.g. Management, Accounting) and a minimum of two (2) years of progressively more responsible directly related R&D engineering support experience, or have an equivalent experience. Familiar with the following structured XML and IETM standards:MIL-STD-38784 MIL-STD-2361 MIL-STD-40051 AECMA 1000D Should be familiar with general expression techniques for rapid text manipulation and with raster graphics technologies used in typical browser-based XML applications such as png and jpg Applications Used: Structured FrameMaker (SGML entities) Arbortext C-E LCMC IETM Toolset (GFI toolset provided by the Army) Applicant must be capable of obtaining a US Security Clearance. Applicant must be a US Citizen.
