Job DescriptionGeneral Dynamics Information Technology is a top-tier IT integrator that provides information technology, systems engineering and professional services to customers in the defense, intelligence, homeland security, federal civil and commercial sectors.  A state-of-the-art test bed infrastructure is being constructed to prototype communications and networking protocols, gateway devices, and networks where various functions and performance aspects can be tested, evaluated, analyzed, and quantified. 
 
 The test bed environment consists of COTS routers, Linux routers, layer-2 switches, and traffic generator devices hosting various ad hoc routing protocols, traffic management function, and software entities. 
 
 Candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and execution of the test bed as well as the experimentations on the communications and networking protocols capturing the performance data measurements. 
 
 The potential candidate will interact with the members of the JTRS gateway project team members to implement the network topologies and use-case scenarios in the test bed. 
 
 He/she will test third-party developed networking software and collect relevant data and statistics documented as part of the experimentation and analysis deliverable. 

 MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. 

 General Requirements:
 
 Successful operation of networking test bed with emphasis on routing protocols running on Linux systems. 
 
 Minimum of 5 years in the design, development, configuration, and experimentation of ad hoc and non-ad hoc routing protocols. 
 
 Hands-on experience with the architecture, dynamics, and operation of network routing protocols. 
 
 Understanding of the dynamics of routing protocols such as convergence and stability in the context of highly topological changes. 
 
 Familiarity with QoS functions of the forwarding plane of the Internet protocols and their usage in the mobile ad hoc environment. 
 
 Understanding of Linux network architecture and implementation. 
 
 General familiarity with network equipment such as IXIA. 
 
 Familiarity and hands-on experience with C and C++. 
 
 Networking Protocols and Algorithms
 * OSPF, RIP, BGP, MANET Extensions to OSPF, OLSR, DSR, TCP/IP/Ethernet, WFQ 

 U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD Clearance is required.
