Description
This position will work within a cross-functional team to provide Industrial Engineering support in the Bellevue, IA facility, analyzing products to produce, and developing and improving manufacturing processes to optimize Quality, Schedule, and Cost with an emphasis on Safety.
Experience with the implementation of Lean Electronics as well as Lean Six Sigma principles in a high mix, low volume production environment is also desired. Demonstrated leadership or project management skills will be considered a plus.
Principal Accountabilities/Requirements:
Perform assignments requiring the use and application of moderate to advanced Industrial Engineering principles and techniques.
Develop tools and fixtures that enable manufacturing, aid process improvement and address safety. Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices and standards.
Determine the most efficient sequence of operations and work flow based on established methods that maximize utilization of production facilitates and personnel.
Review product designs for producibility and provide input to design engineering on changes to improve manufacturability. Serve as liaison with design engineering on incorporating manufacturability into product designs.
Plan and design facilities and layouts for manufacturing processes and equipment, taking into account economic factors, process flow, operator safety, efficiency, and ergonomics.
Develop new assembly processes and make improvements to existing processes.
Apply Lean Six Sigma principles in areas such as quality improvements, variability reduction, cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and workflow improvements.
Lead cost improvement trade studies that analyze alternate manufacturing methods, materials, tooling, and equipment. Estimate project costs and schedules and participate in preparation of proposals and presentations. Manage projects for the implementation of new processes.
Provide input to the area Annual Operating Planning for staffing, capital, and expense budget items.
Lead the preparation, maintenance, and application of manufacturing process procedures.
Provide manufacturing line support including evaluation and disposition of employee suggestions.
Prepare work station or equipment layouts for new production and modify layouts to incorporate changes.
Qualifications
This job requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent.
US Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) is required.
