The Co-op/Intern Student at Boston Scientific has an interesting and challenging position that develops both technical and project management skills. Many of the assignments are jobs that would normally be done by an engineer or technician. The assignments are often projects that are important for future developments, but don't get the attention they deserve because they are not tied directly to the critical path of the project. However, they are frequently the cutting-edge technologies that are incorporated into future products after an initial feasibility period. 

We have engineering co-op/internships available in Process Development, Manufacturing, and Quality. Students may develop protocols and innovative test methods to evaluate device performance. You may design fixtures or troubleshoot problems. You may conduct DOE experiments to support validation protocols. Projects may include critiquing manufacturing operations for process improvements and recommend changes or determining the best method for manufacturing during the design of new products. They may also work on continuous improvement projects or time studies. Responsibilities could include testing and compiling data as well as validating it.

We have engineering co-op/internships available in Research & Development, Process Development Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, & Package Engineering. Students may develop protocols and innovative test methods to evaluate device performance. You may design fixtures or troubleshoot problems. Projects may include product testing, data analysis, test method development and product design recommendations. They may also work on continuous improvement and material replacement projects. 

Activities may include:
• Update component specifications to reflect current artwork, graphics, dimensional modifications, test methods, improvements, and material changes. 
• Support Package Engineers in preparing test samples. 
• Attend Packaging Team Meeting, take notes, and publish notes 
• Circulate Label Approval forms for approval. 
• Prepare drafts of Package Test Protocols and Reports 
• Assist in Package Validation Testing 

Requirements: 
*Completion of second year and actively pursuing 3rd or 4th year requiresments for a BSME/MET or related Engineering Degree 
*Ability to work with all levels within the company, from assemblers to engineers to managers 
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
*Driven, positive minded and willing to do what it takes to get the job done 
Have some problem solving capability 
*Material flow knowledge (JIT, MOMO) helpful 
*SPC knowledge helpful 
*Flexibility 
*Teamwork 
*Testing experience helpful 
*Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and Project, as well as CAD literate (SolidWorks & AutoCAD 14/2000 preferred).
