ACCOUNTANT III
Dominick's Finance Department - Oak Brook Illinois 

The Dominick's Finance Department, located in Oak Brook, Illinois, has an opening for an Accountant III.

Qualifications: The following are preferred or desired unless specifically stated:
•College degree in Accounting, or related field required.
•5+ years of accounting experience - general ledger, store reporting, accounts payable preferred.
•Strong understanding of GAAP, gross profit calculation, retail accounting, warehouse, revenues and expenses
•Knowledge of retail grocery operations and warehousing a plus
•Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access and Hyperion Essbase
•Familiarity with Lawson General Ledger, Lawson Query DME, QMF query, Monarch and Crystal Reports preferred. Proven ability to learn new software.
•Must possess excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills
•Must be able to work independently with a minimum amount of supervision
•Possess a high degree of initiative with the ability to get the job done
•Able to work efficiently, multi-task and meet competing deadlines
•Detail oriented with ability to prioritize workload
•Strong oral and written communication skills
•Must be organized and accurate
•Individual must be dependable and reliable - regular attendance is a must
•Flexible and self motivated
•Team player with the ability to get along with all levels in the organization

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Analyze warehouse gain/loss, over/short, warehouse and transportation expense 
•Assist with period end review of gross profit, general ledger accounts and financial statements 
•Manage inventory and reconcile non-cash items - CTA passes and Fresh Value cards 
•Gather, summarize, prepare and analyze financial and operational data
•Complete ad-hock analysis and other requests for all levels of management 
•Interact with different departments - warehouse, retail operations, marketing, security, accounting center, financial planning and analysis, public relations, etc.
•Participate in the annual financial planning process
•Use relational database, both PC and mainframe, writing queries
•Provide support to manager and perform other tasks as needed
•Assist with special projects and research issues impacting the operation
•Complete other duties as assigned

Salary range begins at $44,200. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
