The Georgia Department of Human Resources, Office of Child Support Services is seeking candidates for the position of Operations Analyst 3, in the Policy Unit.
Has full responsibility for a wide range of projects and well-defined assignments within the Policy Unit. Assists with the development of performance metrics, collection of performance measurement data, and analysis of information. Determines best use of data for supporting development and monitoring of Strategic Plans. Develops data systems or reports to facilitate achievement of projects, programs, goals and objectives. Responds to urgent requests for data from supervisors, media, legislators, etc. As needed, makes effective formal presentations of data to Leadership. Advises OCSS Leadership of strategies and options relative to budgetary planning, impact and implementation. May serve as a project leader for lower level operations analysts and support staff.
Qualifications
Completion of a bachelor's degree in any field from a four-year college or university, and two years of professional experience in operations analysis
OR
Completion of an undergraduate major appropriate to the assignment area, and four years of professional experience in analysis, research, or a programmatic area appropriate to the area of assignment.
Note: Completion of graduate level coursework in a field appropriate to the area of assignment may substitute on a year-for-year basis for up to one year of the required experience. Applicants will be further assessed for skill in the use of computer applications (word processors, spreadsheets, databases, etc.) appropriate to the position during the agency screening process.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be give to applicants who, in addition to meeting the above requirements, possess the following:
Undergraduate Degree Mathematics, Economics, Psychology, Statistics, Sociology, or related field
5-7 years in a statistical field or programmatic area
Experience using statistical principles such as sampling, inferences, transformations, validations
2-3 years experience using statistical principles such as sampling, inferences, transformations, validations
Experience directing, planning and designing the data extraction, data layouts, data analysis and interpretation, and presentation of information in a programmatic area
Experience overseeing the accurate transfer and translation of various data sets
Working knowledge of personal computers and software, with emphasis on MS Word and a familiarity with MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and SPSS.
