Purpose:
The role exists to provide analysis, support and insight to the GM, cluster and distributor teams ensuring seamless coordination, communication and exchange of information between the sales, marketing and finance functions in the cluster as well as our distributors and retailers. This role will also assist in the tracking, evaluating and reporting of national and cluster-specific KPIs, providing clear visibility to risks and opportunities to ensure that the cluster delivers annual volume goals and market share. Additionally, the person in this role will be responsible for analyzing and identifying market level opportunities with sound recommendations, as well as develop reports and tools for the cluster based on accounts sold information, distributor data, market pricing, Promotrac, Featuretrac, DISCUS, Spectra and IRI data.
Decision Making:
- Lead the A&P effectiveness process to evaluate ROI of key initiatives and programs.
- Interpret local market program results and competitive activity to make recommendations to local market managers concerning future opportunities.
- Recommend tactical pricing plans based on competitive set and market conditions, to include forecasts of budgets and ROI.
Management Responsibility:
- Responsible for developing business tracking systems and tools, as well as improving various finance, sales and marketing processes, work streams and role responsibilities utilized to achieve cluster objectives.
Complexity of Role:
- The incumbent will establish standards and consistent processes for business tracking systems and tools, to include scorecards, pricing tools, and internal / external presentation templates.
- Must have a working knowledge of multiple functions within the consumer products industry in order to provide effective linkages between the various cluster functions.
- Must have a strong sense of the commercial aspects and impact to the business. Evaluate market dynamics, volume, profit and market share based on consumer trading dynamics, key customer strategies, economic conditions and competitive pressures.
Key Outputs and Deliverables:
-Strategize, develop, analyze and facilitate the exchange of sales and marketing related information between Cluster office, state offices, distributors and key retailers.
-Track results and prepare recommendations and presentations to Cluster management regarding various sales and marketing programs and opportunities.
-Work with Cluster Marketing Director, local marketing managers and CSM to insure that the Diageo and distributor field sales forces are aware of local and national sales and marketing support.
- Responsible for uncovering additional volume and market share opportunities. Develop presentations to communicate opportunities to senior management. Track progress against various local market opportunities.
- Create presentations of Cluster sales and marketing programs to be presented at distributor sales meetings using own thought process/ideas.
- Lead BBwC training initiative in Cluster. Support through prioritization and execution of training modules.
- Responsible for gathering pertinent data to assist field sales and marketing teams to analyze brand and market trends. Support team by developing standardized reporting to improve time management.
Experience:
BA required, Must have experience working in cross functional teams. 5-7 years exp of consumer products and/or three-tier CPG organization. Must have experience working with retailers and/or wholesalers. Prior exp managing multiple projects and working with large amounts of data required. Ability to draw on both internal and external resources effectively to deliver superior business systems and tools. Ability to analyze in-market activity against business objectives.
