Responsible for working from blueprints, written or verbal instructions, installs, inspects and maintains all heating and refrigeration systems and equipment to ensure operation as specified and/in compliance with EPA Regulations, cGMPs, ASHRAE standards, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties include but are not limited to:•Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots HVAC systems and equipment.•Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots refrigeration systems and equipment.•Installs, maintains and troubleshoots boiler systems and equipment.•Utilizes various instrumentation and reclamation equipment to detect refrigerant leaks and prevent discharge of CFC’s to the atmosphere.•Brazes and welds refrigeration tubing and piping.•Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs pneumatic and electric HVAC controls.•Comprehends and follows PCPs, Job Aids, PMS, work order and other required documents and procedures in the performance of installations and maintenance.•Performs all duties in a safe manner according to Company safety policies and procedures.•Responds to mechanical shutdowns of refrigeration equipment and HVAC systems.•Replaces components, compressors, and motors on all HVAC and refrigeration systems.•Tests and maintains chemical concentrations in the boiler feed water and cooling tower systems.•Other duties and/or responsibilities may be assigned at the manger’s discretion.Knowledge Necessary to Perform the Job:•Experience in refrigeration equipment and HVAC systems.•Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.•Must be able to perform shop math, read blueprints, and schematics.•Must have ability to operate hand and power tools common to the trade.•Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and equipment maintenance and instruction manuals necessary.•Experience in basic computer skills in a Windows environment. Candidates must not be allergic to penicillin.
Essential Skills
Refrigeration Journeyman’s Card and a First Class Operator’s License. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with six years industrial refrigeration experience. Preferred but not required some experience in a pharmaceutical, hospital or food –processing environment.
