Description : Phoenix-based SRP, the nation's third-largest public power and water utility is recruiting for an Accounts Payable Analyst.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Quantitative Systems, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or Related Quantitative Disciplines. A Masters Degree is preferred. Five years experience in Accounts Payable is desired. Candidate must have knowledge and experience working with PC desktop applications (Access, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Cognos Impromptu) and other applications such as CAPS/PEOPLESOFT, CIMAGE, ODC (Scanning software), SAS, CICS, FIS and HRMS. 

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provides, operates and maintains A/P computer systems for SRP Accounts Payable, writes and prepares queries and reports for A/P reporting needs, CAPS/Peoplesoft testing, provides guidance and assistance to the A/P technicians. Works with SRP vendors, SRP invoice approvers, Corporate Audit, Corporate Taxes, I.T., Procurement Services and other areas on A/P related matters. Reconciles A/P related accounts and control reports, prepares journal vouchers, assists with system upgrades, maintains checklists and prepares/maintains written procedures for A/P and establishes/maintains A/P related controls and security. Provides support for accounting questions from SRP management and staff. Suggests and implements A/P related improvements. Learns and performs Payroll related functions as a backup.
