VP, Information Technology GENERAL SUMMARY Provides leadership and strategic direction for Operations, Production Support, Job Scheduling, and Script Development. Designs and implements enterprise solutions to meet the requirements of growing and changing business needs. Supports the VP of Data Center Operations across all PS and Ops functions. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Manages support and project teams responsible for all phases of the system development and implementation processes including analysis, design, development, and on-going support for all client area production systems in an environment of diverse development platforms. Defines IT operational standards, processes, and procedures. Consults with clients in the analysis of short and long range business requirements and recommends innovations which anticipate the future impact of changing business requirements. Proactively recommends courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness. Coordinates activities with other department managers (e.g. database, network, engineering, etc) Actively participates in the identification and deployment of automation tools in an enterprise environment. Actively promotes the development of cross-functional skill sets among all members of the Production Support and Operations staff. Builds teams; mentors, and develops staff across teams. Develops an understanding of technologies in use inside and outside of operations; supervisesparticipates in the training the support staff around those technologies.. Promotes Management Awareness of the business impact and implications of technology initiatives by making recommendations to management regarding process re-engineering. Develops and negotiates Service Level Agreements; ensures SLAs are maintained. Follows up on problems that are identified and escalated to outside groups. Ensures problem resolution occurs in a reasonable timeframe. Performs other duties as required. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience. Substantial experience (10+ years) in all aspects of computer operations and customer support. Minimum 10 years of Script development experience, preferably in a 24/7 health care environment. Minimum 10 years experience in an Application or Operations Supervisory capacity with a department of at least 25+ employees. Substantial experience in recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating staff. Requires decisiveness, good judgment, demonstrated managerial skills, strong interpersonal skills, and outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Experience with MFT (Managed File Transfer) methodology and technology is preferred. Must have a minimum of 10 years experience in a high-volume job scheduling environment. Thorough understanding of Perl, Shell, Unix, VMS, and Microsoft Operating Systems and programming languages is preferred. Must be dynamic, and able to think and react quickly to resolve internal and external customer issues. Must have working knowledge of all aspects of data center technologies.
