BASIC FUNCTION: Receive, review and accurately process paperwork for general ledger manual accounting entries. Receive, review and accurately process disbursement requests and receipts. Verify data provided, check for proper authorizations and forward disbursement requests and/or other documentation to Banking in a timely manner to meet general or special mailing needs. Identify any system errors/imbalances and notify the appropriate contacts on a timely basis to ensure problems are corrected in an efficient manner. Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations of asset and suspense accounts. Perform backup duties for the division. Other duties as assigned to include research and analysis, maintaining archived accounting records, filing and special projects.
QUALIFICATIONS: Accounting major, junior status or higher preferred. Completion of at least two accounting courses. Working knowledge of Excel and Word. Strong communication skills. Ability to work 25 hours a week over at least 4 days (5 preferred) during the school year with the possibility of extra hours during breaks.
