The Care Manager is responsible for the following:
•Review of mental health authorization requests for services according to the established medical necessity and state/federal program requirements;
•Providing onsite reviews;
•Completing prior authorizations of all inpatient stays and residential psychiatric treatment center stays;
•Conducting retrospective reviews of inpatient psychiatric and residential psychiatric treatment center stays;
•Maintaining policy and procedure manual;
•Providing technical assistance to providers at the point of contact.
EDUCATION:
Master’s degree in behavioral healthcare field
REQUIREMENTS:
•Active Maine licensure in field of expertise (Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, or Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors);
•At least 5 year’s experience in assessment and care management;
•Experience providing utilization review is a plus;
•Strong verbal and written communication skills;
•Customer service focus; and
•Ability to resolve problems in a non-threatening manner.
