Job Description: Responsibilities
* Work with Product Line Leadership, the ACC SILs, and the NPI Design Team Leaders to define Component, Sub System, & System Validation Requirements for the major elements of the ACC plant (GT, ST, BOP). * Coordinate Validation requirements into appropriate specifications and documentation.* Assess appropriate verification and validation options, including, full scale engine testing, provide plan for satisfying all validation requirements.* Define / perform trade studies required to balance schedule, cost, and risk for validation platform culminating in recommendation for Engine Validation.* Work with ACC SILs to ensure component and sub-system validation requirements are satisfied on time, within budget. * Responsible for driving all of the Validation Requirements that are part of the Advanced Combined Cycle Power Plant to meet the product and plant requirements.* Define the test scope, cost, and schedule. Involves coordinating across Technology COE's, Gas Turbine Technology Laboratory, Reliability/Safety, and Site teams to identify test plans, run profiles, instrumentation, on-site/off-site monitoring equipment, hardware modifications, pre- and post-test inspections and logistics. * Lead the definition and design of test facilities required for ACC validation, and oversee the development and fulfillment programs to be sure that new facilities are accomplished on time and to the necessary technical specification to meet ACC validation requirements.* Responsible for driving all of the Validation Requirements that are part of the Advanced Combined Cycle Power Plant to meet the product and plant requirements, and to minimize ACC insurance risks Qualifications
* BS degree in Engineering.* Minimum 8+ years related or similar professional work experience.* Green Belt certified (GE employees only). Desired
* MS or equivalent Advanced Degree. * * Experience managing technology programs across multiple functional organizations.* Experience in the power generation industry, either thermal or renewable energy. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills. *Willingness/ability to accept challenges outside of technical expertise/comfort zone. * Demonstrated ability to self-start and move forward with individual initiative.* Prior engineer/technology leadership experience, including leading component and/or machine level tests. * Understanding of fundamental power plant products and associated components. * Fundamental understanding of power plant operation and its components. * Demonstrated ability to lead large, cross-functional teams. * Fundamental understanding of instrumentation equipment and associated capabilities. * Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills for wide ranges of audiences. * Ability to influence in a matrix environment & formulate win-win strategies between competing factors. * System understanding of the Plant, GT, Steam Turbine and Generator.
