A limited service hotel in Warwick is looking for a Junior Sales Manager. This will be a hybrid position, attending to the SALES and administrative demands of the hotel and also acting as an Administrative Assistant to the sales team of another Mid-Scale Airport Hotel. Both rolls are equally important, with the main emphasis on growing overnight room night revenues at the Limited Service Hotel (Through group bookings and locally negotiated rates) and supporting the sales staff at the Mid-Scale Airport Hotel to do the same. This individual MUST BE enthusiastic, competitive, aggressive, supportive, self-disciplined and able to manage themselves and ask the questions in order to get the job done. Applicants that have not shown job growth on their resumes or do not want to work in both an administrative role and carry the weight of sales goals need not apply. Applicant must be able to meet deadlines, thrive in a high pressured environment, multi-task and have outstanding phone etiquette. Individual will be held accountable to:
-Aggressively solicit new accounts and develop relationships with existing accounts through outside sales calls, trade shows, industry vendor relationships, etc.
-Solicit and pursue opportunities out of town when necessary
-Conduct site inspections and entertain potential clients
-Cold calling for new business
-Handle all group inquiries and requests
-Perform administrative tasks for the Director of Sales and the Mid-Scale Airport Hotel Sales Staff
-Perform daily administrative tasks for both hotels
-Operational responsibilities will also be required
Job Requirements:-Minimum 1 year HOTEL experience
-Excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
-Superior communication skills, both oral and written
-Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). This proficiency CANNOT be stated strongly enough.
-Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and multi-task
-Contribute and work as a team player as well as independently
-Leadership experience in another field
