JOB DESCRIPTION:51092 HELP DESK COORD SR: UNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION, PROVIDES SUPPORT TO END-USERS FOR PC, SERVER OR MAINFRAME APPLICATION, AND HARDWARE. HANDLES PROBLEMS AND ISSUES THAT THE FIRST-TIER(S) OF HELP DESK SUPPORT IS UNABLE TO RESOLVE. MAY INTERACT WITH NETWORK SERVICES, SOFTWARE SYSTEMS ENGINEERING, AND/OR APPLICATIONS DEVELOPMENT TO RESTORE SERVICE AND/OR IDENTIFY AND CORRECT CORE PROBLEM. ASSIST IN SIMULATION AND RECREATION OF USER PROBLEMS. MAY RECOMMEND SYSTEMS MODIFICATIONS TO REDUCE USER PROBLEMS.

ABILITY TO FOLLOW PROCEDURAL GUIDELINES TO RESPOND TO AND/OR RESEARCH CUSTOMER QUESTIONS. ABILITY TO INTERACT WITH NETWORK SERVICES, SOFTWARE SYSTEMS ENGINEERING, AND/OR APPLICATIONS DEVELOPMENT.
POSITION PREREQUISITES:PREREQUISITES: (APPLICANT MUST MEET ALL TO QUALIFY.) 51090 HELP DESK COORD JR:TWO YEARS EXPERIENCE ON A TECHNICAL HELP DESK. HARDWARE TROUBLESHOOTING AND MICROSOFT WINDOWS 2000 SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE A PLUS. MUST HAVE STRONG WRITTEN AND VERBAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS. APPLICANT MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN A SECRET LEVEL SECURITY CLEARANCE THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF NAVY. APPLICANT MUST BE A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES. APPLICANT MUST BE ABLE TO WORK FLEXIBLE SHIFTS AND ABLE TO SIT AT A DESK FOR UP TO 4 HOURS AT A TIME, TAKING PHONE CALLS. APPLICANTS MUST HAVE AN INTERIM SECRET OR SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE PRIOR TO START DATE.
