Serves as the principal contact and liaison person between Maintenance and Production and other supported departments. In this capacity, position ensures that all internal customers of Maintenance receive timely, efficient and quality service. Position also takes a continuing interest in customer (internal) needs. With keen awareness of the customers situation (schedule, problems, etc.), the Planner is able to help Production balance their need for daily output with their need of equipment reliability through proactive maintenance. Position is responsible for long-range as well as short-range planning. Long-range planning involves the regular analysis of backlog relative to available resources. These two basic variables must be kept in balance if a proactive maintenance environment is to be established and sustained. Analyzes work requests and defines action plan and specific scope of work. Estimates manpower and material requirements for maintenance tasks and special projects. Researches and identifies material needs and establishes order quantities and frequencies. Locates and orders materials for a variety of mechanical and electrical projects. Uses maintenance computer to generate reports and planning data. Operates all aspect of computer data entry. Ensures accuracy of work order, time and material information. Prepares contracting information for accomplishment of complex mechanical and electrical projects using information provided by maintenance management 

Required Skills

Understanding of maintenance processes related to the food processing industry.

Team player, self starter, motivator, goal oriented, and strategic thinker. 

Worker safety oriented? 

Experience in maintenance planning, production scheduling, work orders, and project management.

Experience in MS Word, Excel and Access is preferred. 

Experience with CMMS systems preferred.

Required Experience 


?Four years maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
