Chamberlain College of Nursing is a 119 year old nursing school that originated in St. Louis, MO. Chamberlain established an additional campus in Columbus, OH and has plans to open a campus in Phoenix, AZ in March of 2007. Chamberlain has applied to the IL Board of Nursing to open a campus in Addison and is awaiting approval by that board. In addition, Chamberlain is exploring expansion to additional states. Chamberlain offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) on all of its campuses, and an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) on some of its campuses. Both programs have a campus-based option and a Web-based option. These nursing programs have a strong historical foundation, broad general education background and extensive clinical practice that culminate in compassionate and clinically proficient graduates. (NYSE: DV), an international higher education company.Position Summary The NCLEX Review Tutor will work in the Center for Academic Success, assisting senior-level ASN and BSN students with exit exam and NCLEX exam review. The NCLEX Review Tutor will assist the Coordinator of the Center for Academic Success in supporting the academic needs of the upper-level nursing students at Chamberlain College of Nursing in St. Louis. The position will report to the Coordinator of the Center for Academic Success. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1.Assists the Coordinator with assessing the academic needs of the senior-level nursing students and developing plans for remediation.2.Provides academic instruction and guidance to students individually or in groups in preparation for the exit (HESI, ATI, or other) and NCLEX examinations.3.Interprets test results with students (practice exam or test question results).4.Tutors students in content area, as well as in test taking skills and general NCLEX preparation.5.Assists the Coordinator with monitoring the completion of preparatory work for graduation requirements and exit examinations.6.Communicates students’ progress to the Coordinator.7.Demonstrates current, detailed, and accurate knowledge of exit examinations and the NCLEX examination.8.Demonstrates effective behaviors and accountability in meeting the following standards of service excellence to students, fellow team members, and external agencies: Friendliness and courtesy, professionalism, effective communication, and first class service.9.Handles related duties as assigned.Any other duties as may be assigned or required.Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
