WATER/WASTE WATER DEPARTMENT MANAGER
This new position will be responsible for developing a local/regional Water/Waste Water practice from the Minneapolis Office. This position requires a strong understanding of the Twin Cities regional marketplace and ability to work with an established national practice. A demonstrated ability to manage staff and market services is required.
Responsibilities:
1)Manage all aspects of Water/Wastewater Planning and Engineering Practice for the URS Minneapolis Office, which includes the State of Minnesota and surrounding region. This includes hiring and managing staff, budgets, and project technical development through preparation of final construction drawings, as applicable. Provide oversight to assure consistent product quality and profitability of operation.
2)Develop and implement a business development plan to identify and win work from new clients in the Minneapolis Office service area. A preliminary review of the Minnesota market suggests that a 10% share of the large public water/wastewater market could lead to a $2-$3 million practice.
3)Coordinate with other Department Managers in the Minneapolis Office to coordinate and utilize existing staff capabilities to the maximum extent possible..
4)Coordinate with the National & Regional Water Resource Managers to further develop relationships among URS peer groups throughout the company in an effort to share resources, utilize technical strengths, ensure independent reviews of all deliverables, and to identify key project opportunities as early as possible.
