Job Description:

The Director of Nursing (D.O.N.) has overall responsibility and accountability for the coordination of Nursing Services as well as hospital wide patient care programs, policies & procedures. The D.O.N. is also involved in the approval of all policies and procedures regarding patient care and utilization of services (Performance Improvement, Utilization Review, etc.). The D.O.N. serves as the Risk Manager for the facility

Job Requirements: 

A Master's degree in psychiatric or mental health nursing or it's equivalent from a school of nursing accredited by the National League for Nursing (NLN). Experience should include four (4) years employment as an RN in a psychiatric setting in positions of progressive responsibility and leadership. This should include at least two (2) years in a supervisory and/or administrative role. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered. Level of knowledge should include principles of nursing care, nursing administration, and all other aspects of the provision of safe, effective patient care. A working knowledge of standards and requirements associated with the practice of nursing and accreditation/surveys as well as knowledge of current trends in the fields of psychiatric and general health care is required. General skills in business/management are needed.

Rivendell is a behavioral health organization that provides a full continuum of mental health services for children, adolescents and adults, including inpatient hospitalization, long-term inpatient treatment, partial hospitalization, and outpatient services provided in a traditional office setting, school or home. Through its sister company, AltaCare, Rivendell also provides educational day treatment for students unable to function in public schools, but in close coordination with the home school. Altogether, Rivendell provides a seamless array of outpatient, educational and supportive services to meet the needs of most at-risk youth and their families.
