Percent Time: 50% - 100%
Type of Position Regular: A staff member is appointed to a position that is essential for the effective long-term operation of the university. Staff members are entitled to the privileges and benefits associated with regular status employment.
Duties: Research, write and edit Radiation Oncology publications.
Research and prepare appropriate background material for articles.
Research and prepare material on assigned special topics.
Prepare appropriate captions for visual portions of articles and presentations.
Prepare informational documents and posters for academic conferences.
Verify and insure accuracy of information submitted for publications and media.
Design, write and produce exhibits highlighting the Department.
Prepare, submit and/or upload content as required.
Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public.
Education Required: A Bachelor's degree in Journalism or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Experience Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Must be proficient in computer software applications.
Desirable Qualifications: Some (6 months - 1 year) journalistic experience is desirable.
Scientific writing background desirable.
Knowledge of Radiation Oncology desirable.
Previous experience with grants or academic publications desirable.Online Application Options
