The Indianapolis Star, a Gannett Company newspaper, is seeking a SalesRevenue Manager to direct the Major and National Accounts Sales team by ensuring team sales goals are met on a monthly, quarterly, semi yearly, and annual basis; develop initiatives to generate additional business and revenue sources; and develop staff to excel in regards to revenue growth, account acquisition and account retention through providing comprehensive advertising solutions. Other responsibilities include assisting on sales calls when necessary to help influence decision makers and negotiate annual contracts (ROP, Magazines, On-line, Preprints, etc.); monitoring contract fulfillment levels understanding current industry and market trends as it relates to current account base including (but not limited to): Furniture, Grocery, Health, Education, and Telecommunications; directing and monitoring The Indianapolis Star Media Groups presentation process; and budgeting, forecasting, goal setting and tracking of account activity via Relationals (CRM).
Requirements:Related college degree3 - 5 years sales management and 8-10 years sales experience Extensive knowledge of newspaper product, market, customer and competition Established successful sales history, with the ability to coach and develop staff Must have strong leadership, motivation and persuasive communication skills Ability to exercise independent judgment to handle a variety of duties Ability to manage large revenue budgets
