We are looking for an Account Executive position for our pmiDirect group located in Downers Grove, IL. This inside sales role grows sales in existing markets and expands into untapped markets using creative inside sales techniques and procedures (i.e. telephone solicitation, direct mail). The incumbent is normally assigned larger and/or more strategic accounts. This person solicits PMI products with the intent to obtain mortgage insurance and works independently to achieve specific sales goals & objectives. Minimal travel.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Telephones customers (lenders) to obtain mortgage insurance and create relationships. Regularly contacts senior management at the branch level of National Accounts.
Identifies new opportunities within existing active and dormant accounts. Determines the appropriate decision makers and uses creative sales techniques to explain the benefits of and market company products/services. May work on opportunities to promote/market contract underwriting services and negotiate terms of contracts.
Prospects for new accounts. Provides information to customers regarding PMI products, the benefits of MI and the advantages of doing business with PMI.
Assists customers with PMI online underwriting tools including initial user set up, ongoing routine support and training.
Utilizes appropriate direct marketing tools to enhance relationships and increase business. Coordinates account direct marketing efforts with Marketing Specialist. Identifies opportunities for direct marketing campaigns and communicates ideas to Marketing Specialist.
Provides excellent customer service to encourage loyalty to PMI and develop new avenues of business opportunity.
Profiles each customer and obtains information to aid in the sales process such as: net worth, loan origination systems, automated underwriting (AU) preferences, areas of operation, technology, email, website technology and investors etc. Devises creative plans and strategies to utilize this information to further penetrate the account and increase NIW.
Assists customers, when necessary, to expedite loans in process with PMI.
Attends customer/industry events on behalf of PMI, to take advantage of face time with customer and further enhance relationships.JOB SPECIFICATIONSKnowledge & Skills:
Excellent working knowledge of the mortgage or mortgage insurance industry and related regulations.
Strong sales and customers service skills. Ability to use creative approaches to persuade, influence and develop strategic relationships with customers.
Strong verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively and clearly present information over the phone to offer customer training and explain product benefits. Strong writing skills to produce effective reports and business correspondence.
Good general math skills.
Proficiency with MS Office products and ability to learn new PC and/or internet-based tools.Education & Experience:Required knowledge & skills would typically be acquired through an Associate's degree or equivalent with 5+ years experience in mortgage processing, underwriting, sales or related positions.Part of the selection process includes the completion of a personality assessment.
