Academic Counselor

This position provides academic advisement and management for all new and continuing students throughout their academic program while serving as a liaison between the student and the University including University school policies and practices regarding course selection, classroom operations and degree completion. Help students choose and schedule their course of study, excel in their classes,overcome obstacles, comply with University policies, and achieve their graduation.

Job Requirements 

Possessing a relatively high level of communication skills to accurately convey University information is ideal. Seeking results oriented individuals with the ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and effectively. Customer service and/sales experience entailing one on one interaction is preferred. Working knowledge of database and software packages to enter, track, and maintain student information is essential. 
 
Bachelor's degree in business, education, psychology or related field required. Candidates must also be detail-oriented, self-starter with strong communication skills. 
 
ADDITIONAL ACADEMIC COUNSELOR REQUIREMENTS: 

A bachelor’s degree 

Two years of sales or customer service experience 

The ability to coach and motivate others 

Uncompromising honesty and ethical standards 

Computer proficiency is preferred
