The principal of George Washington High School will be privileged to lead this exceptional group of students and teachers to new markers of excellence in academics and social responsibility.GW is a school that has been recognized as one of Newsweek's top 100 schools in the country. It is home to the first, and arguably strongest, International Baccalaureate diploma program in the Denver metropolitan area. The IB is a rigorous pre-university course of study, designed around an international curriculum to encourage critical thinking and global perspectives, specifically with highly motivated students enrolled. In addition to its IB program, it also has rigorous College Board Advanced Placement classes where students select their classes from a plethora of offerings. GW has repeatedly earned awards and honors in both academic and arts programs. Students are also able to be involved in a wealth of extra-curricular learning activities such as competitive speech and math, Model UN and National History Day. Appropriate specialization such as secondary education, administration, curriculum, instruction, and literacy will be strongly considered.
