Job DescriptionJOB TITLE: Safety Advisor LOCATION: Anchorage (Field Locations as Required) TYPE OF POSITION: Full Time POINT OF HIRE: Anchorage, AK SCHEDULE: 50 Hours per week / 10 Hours per day REPORTS TO:Safety Director FLSA:Non-Exempt 

 Position Summary: 

 The Safety Advisor works in conjunction with the Client Safety Manager and staff to provide support of the client safety processes. The position will be based in Anchorage but will include travel to and work at North Slope locations. 

 Essential job responsibilities/functions include, but are not limited to: 

 1.As needed, the Safety Advisor helps develop policies, programs, procedures, and plans based on knowledge of identified hazards, client processes, business systems, or changes in policies & procedures. 2. The Safety Advisor inspects facilities to detect hazards; determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated; and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented. 3. The Safety Advisor works with Project Managers to ensure that relevant codes, standards, regulations, best industry practices, and Client policies & procedures are adhered to. 4. The Safety Advisor participates in the investigation of incidents. 5. The Safety Advisor assists with the classification of injuries for OSHA recordkeeping purposes. 

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

 1. Preferred certification requirements are CHST / OHST or a higher level of certification from the BCSP or ACGIH. 2. Candidate must be willing and able to lead and educate employees in safe work ethics, practices, and behaviors. 3. Candidate must have a working knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 & 1926 4. Familiarity with root-cause based incident investigation and implementation of corrective actions. 5. Candidate must be able to effectively use written and verbal communication skills to convey Safety policies and procedures. Candidate must be able to implement working solutions to aid supervision in mitigating identified hazards. 6. Candidate must have a working knowledge of computer software including; 7. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and be able to adapt to existing Safety databases such as ISNetworld. 

 Minimum Qualifications: 

 ?Valid Driver's License. ?High School Education. ?Associates degree in a safety related field and two years experience in safety. ?Or, 4+ years experience in a full-time professional safety position. ?Candidate must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with personnel at all levels of the organization.
