FTE: 0.90, rotating variable The Flight Paramedic will deliver care in the transport environment under the direct supervision of the assigned Flight Nurse. The environment where care will be provided will include rotor wing, fixed wing, ground ambulance and hospital. All duties and care provided will be performed in accordance with department and hospital policies and all care delivered during transport will be implemented within the written treatment protocols approved by the Medical Director or treatment guidelines received from on line medical control and/or the assigned Flight Nurse. May require extended hours of travel to accompany medical transfers in and out of the state. Required to assume staff call time. Must be able to respond to Hospital or Airport within 20 minutes of notification. May be required to travel to satellite bases for duty time. Will be required to follow LifeGuard dress code. Adheres to department weight and fitness policies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and able to work in a team environment. Successful Candidates will have 3 years minimum as an ALS pre-hospital care provider. Graduation from an approved Paramedic education course satisfactory completion of Hospital and department orientation including all additional educational requirements as required. Preference given to individuals with previous flight experience and interfacility transport. Must be able to read, write, and speak English Licensure/Certification: Licensed as a State of Alaska Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic. Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification required.
