The Decatur Site has an opening for an E&I Electrician in the Nylon Intermediates Maintenance Group.
This position will troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and instrumentation in a chemical manufacturing plant.
This position requires a highly motivated, self-starter with a strong focus on customer service.
The individual must closely coordinate with manufacturing groups and support the needs of the area.
Advanced problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.
The candidate is expected to continue developing personal and technical skills and apply that knowledge to improve operations.
Principle duties of this position include troubleshooting, repairing and upgrading electrical equipment and instrumentation; managing and maintaining interlocks, and assisting with planning of E&I shut-down work.
The ideal candidate will have electrical and instrumentation experience in a chemical plant or similar environment.
Required Skills
Must be able to read electrical drawings.
Must be able to test/troubleshoot transformers.
Must be a proficient computer user.
Familiarity with SAP a plus.
Requires a high school degree or GED.
Prefer a two-year electrical degree.
Required Experience
Requires experience maintaining and troubleshooting AC and DC electrical control systems.
Requires experience with 480 or higher voltage.
Must be familiar with industrial rectifiers and DC drive controls. Experience with SCR fired DC drives a plus.
Must be able to test/troubleshoot transformers.
PLC skills and experience with SMART instrumentation a plus.
Prefer experience maintaining interlocks.
