Job Purpose: To serve the needs of the health plan members and the other patients of the Kaiser Permanente Health Care Program. Under supervision is responsible for assessing, planning, directing, providing and evaluating nursing care for patients and coordinating nursing care activities with other health care disciplines. Newborn assessment skills/triage. Venipuncture on newborns, heel sticks on newborns, use of pulse oximetry, emergency oxygen administration, airway management and suctioning of newborns and mothers. Breastfeed support knowledge. Experience with assisting in circumcision. Willing participation in unit committees and staff meetings.
Education Requirements: Graduate of accredited School of Nursing: Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Certification/Licensing: Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.
RN license upon hire
BSN prefererred
BLS w/AED certification
Minimum Requirement:
Neonatal resuscitation program certification
Preferred:
2 years recent experience in postpartum/level one newborn care
1 year recent experience in GYN post-op care
1 year recent experience in antepartum patient population
BSN S.T.A.B.L.E. trained
Hours: 24 hr week/2-12 hr night shifts/1900-0730/including every other weekend

Salary Range: $27.72 - $39.86
