Description
Monitor a business credit portfolio for clients that are automatically identified as exceptions to thebank's performance warning indicators (e.g. loan payment performance, line usage characteristics, DDA performance, credit reports, derogatory public filings, judgments, liens, etc.). Apply credit skills, product knowledge, and sound judgment to quickly assess credit risk, gathering additional information, as necessary, by researching credit file, consulting with other associates and by calling clients directly. Determine proper course of action, which may include transfer to SAG, requesting financial statements for further analysis, following for resolution of issues, no further action, etc. Underwrite and decision loan modifications/restructures within assigned credit approval authority and established guidelines. May have player/coach responsibilities to mentor and develop less experienced associates. Performance is based on effectiveness of decisions (transferring problem loans to SAG soon enough to avoid loss while retaining good customers on our books), speed of decisions, number of items processed, and the retention of profitable loans within the portfolio. Skills/Experience Required: Good credit skills, Information resourcefulness, Ability to quickly discern legitimate problems from immaterial events, Sound judgment, Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Proficiency obtaining information and reports from various bank systems, Strong follow-up skills, Leadership skills to coach and develop junior associates and partner with teammates to help support management of team performance, Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting or economics preferred as well as a minimum of 5 years related work experience.
Monitor a business credit portfolio of larger exposure customers utilizing SONAR and other systems for clients that are identified as exceptions to the bank's performance warning indicators. Apply credit skills, product knowledge and sound judgment to quickly assess credit risk, gathering additional information, as necessary, by researching credit file, engaging Client Managers to e engage customer for information and resolution to performance issues. Includes gathering and analysis of financial statements to determine proper course of action which may include transfer to SAG
Qualifications
Required Skills:
Credit (min. 5 years experience or formal credit training). strong communication (written and oral), strong attention to detail and follow-up, risk assessmentability to coach and develop junior associates.
Desired Skills:
Formal Credit Training, prior work out experience, ability to work with other units to achieve LOB goals.
