Job Description: This position is primarily responsible for revenue growth in Norlight’s developing Business Partners Program (BPP; aka Alternate Channel). To accomplish this, the position focuses on providing technical consultation to BPP Sales Management, Business Partners and their customers in an effort to sell Norlight’s broad suite of products. An emphasis on achievement of high levels of partner and customer satisfaction requires the position to demonstrate strong selling, communications and business relationship skills. Act as the liaison between Norlight BPP and Engineering departments to insure communications and understanding of requirements specific to network design and installation. Provide product specific education to BPP Sales Management and partners to ensure that they properly understand and represent Norlight service offerings. Maintain knowledge of technologies that are applicable to Norlight product offerings and position the Norlight products versus the competition. Some travel required; approximately 30% of time spent at customer and/or partner locations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.•Actively participate, through effective data gathering techniques, along with Norlight Business Partners and/or BPP Sales Management on appointments - in person, via phone or Webcast - with customers and prospects, in an effort to determine customer needs. Then, assist BPP Sales Management and/or partners with development of presentations and delivery of proposals to partners and/or customers/prospects. •Provide technical consultation and training BPP Sales Management and partners on all Norlight BPP products and services. Develop educational material and presentations for BPP to enhance awareness and understanding of Norlight products/services as well as related technical issues. •Through research and attendance at continuing education/informational events, including BPP/Alternate Channel forums, maintain knowledge of current technical issues and key developments in the telecommunications industry, specifically the Alternate Channel, which can be communicated to internal personnel, business partners and external customers. •Interact with the Application Engineering Department regarding network developments, modifications, development of customer solutions and repair or restoration of existing customer products and services. Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will have outstanding customer service, presentation, and communication skills. Ability to coach sales team members to independence on telecom technologies. Technical knowledge in wide area networks and internet, including WAN/LAN. Sales experience.Desired Qualifications: experience in developing sales strategies within team selling environment.
