Description: 
 
Raytheon is seeking a Systems Administrator responsible for daily maintenance and support of UNIX and Linux servers and operating systems for our customer in Clarksburg, West Virginia. 
 
Responsibilities include: 
-Installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems hardware, operating systems and business applications. 
-Set up and maintain application services such as backups (using Veritas), web browser, JDK, Apache server, BEA Weblogic, Service guard, and Nagios. 
-Implement security monitoring tools, access controls, services, inspect audit logs, monitor security of the networks and investigate any attempts of security violations. 
-Evaluate, install, maintain, and upgrade OS level and application software when needed 
-Manage on-site network servers, equipment and disk storage devices. 
-Participate in network / systems implementations projects and roll-outs. 
-Other systems administration duties as directed. 
 
 
 
Required Skills: 
 
 
 
-Minimum 2 years related systems administration experience. 
-Some networking knowledge including small-scale distributed computer systems (using Solaris, Sun OS, HP-UX, IRIX) and Local Area Networks (using Cisco IOS, Cisco Works 2000, HP Openview Netmetrix, Aprisma Spectrum). 
- Must have experience setting up and maintaining file, web, mail, clustered and application servers for backups. 
-Knowledge of software development life cycle and experience in software configuration management . 
-The ability to operate in a team environment consisting of both internal and external members, co-workers and customers . 
-The ability to express complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable to non-technical employees. 
-The ability to document and electronically store daily task information, architecture, processes, and user instructions. 
 
Qualified applicants must meet minimum qualifications for access to classified information. U.S. Citizenship is required. 
 
 
 
 
 
Required Education: 
 
BS degree or equivalent experience. 
 
 
 
Desired Skills: 
 
-Experience with C/C++ programming, Perl scripting, or equivalent tools for system performance analysis. 
-Experience with Java, networking, and Microsoft domain servers. 
- Editing and proofing skills are highly preferred. 
- Experience using Nagios and/or BEA Weblogic.
