NCI: As the Mid Level Tech Support  Engineer in Washington DC, you will be able to utilize your Engineering/Programming skills in an exciting faced paced environment.  You will draw upon your SQL programming as well as databse and Hardware skills.You will be instrumental in impacting the services/solutions delivery by making recommendations for enhancements and seeing them through to ensure customer satisfaction. 
Highlights of Responsibilities:

Hardware Tasks:  

Select and build a PC from component parts, i.e. power supply, processor, motherboard, etc. 
Troubleshoot PC hardware to the component level 
Upgrade PC BIOS 
Install printers 
Connect PC's to a server through a network switch  (does not need to know Cisco programming)

  Examples of software tasks:

Install the operating system, drivers, and applications on a new PC. 
Manage a file server (Windows 2003) 
Manage an exchange server 
Manage licenses

Example of database programming task: 

Develop an application in a Microsoft  SQL database to keep track of correspondence 
        Allow user to enter document data: 
                date 
                title 
                keywords 
                sent or received 
                author 
        Allow user to subsequently submit a query on a subset of fields to identify a list of qualifying documents 
        Allow for use by multiple network users 

Duties:

Provide a broad range of support to the Technical Security Program.  Duties include, but are not limited to: Develop databases; 
 
 Program automated test equipment; and 
 
 Program specialty applications which may include hardware control
