Please Note: Internships are UNPAID and structured to last approximately 12 weeks. Course Credit is available.
Students should have a strong academic record (3.0 strongly preferred) and good character. Students must have completed their sophomore year in college prior to the start of the internship. In addition, students may not have graduated college or graduate school prior to the start of the internship (i.e. students must still be enrolled in school during the time of the internship). Students seeking college credit are strongly encouraged to apply. Note to International Students: All international students will be required to provide documentation of proper visa paperwork prior to your arrival if accepted to the program. Only J1 or F1 visas will be accepted.
Deadline to apply for Fall Internships is August 11, 2010. Due to the high volume of candidates for Turner’s Internship Program, interested students are encouraged to apply for openings as soon as possible, as these positions will be filled on an ongoing basis. Future semester Internship postings will be available after the current semester deadline.
Image Management
Image Management creates, produces and manages original photography for all Turner Broadcasting networks including worldwide, TNT, TBS, Cartoon Network, Turner Sports, Turner Classic Movies and TruTv.
Potential Opportunities
The internship will enhance the student’s education in the area of entertainment photography production. An emphasis will be placed on supporting the production of gallery and episodic photography. Internship duties will include: researching and compiling visual inspiration for upcoming photo shoots, creating style guides for future reference, distributing production updates, creating call sheets and helping with the organization and storage of freelance photographer contracts. At the end of the internship , the student will have a working knowledge of the standard production needs for small and large scale photo shoots. Selected students will also have the opportunities to learn and observe a number of functions within the department, such as staff photo shoots, editing, digital, retouching, digital asset management and research. Students will learn how Image Management selects images and tells a story with editing, manages the digital process, catalogs images, and creates contact sheets and mock ups. Will also have the opportunity to shadow and interact with various Image Management staff members.
Qualifications
Photography and/or film production knowledge is required. PowerPoint, Excel & Photoshop experience preferred. Students should also possess the following attributes: organizational skills, attention to detail, positive attitude, and be a team player.
