Set-up, adjust, and operate barcode reading/sorting systems, metering equipment, mail/tray transport systems, shrink-wrap equipment, and tying machines. Create and set-up job sorting schemes, and update fast-forward software as required. Maintain quality control of work processed. Identify jobs, log, and prepare mail for sorting. Process mail to meet requirements for postal discounts and for delivery to the U.S. Postal Service (USPS). Print labels as needed. Prepare presorted mail for delivery to the USPS by sleeving trays, palletizing, and shrink-wrapping. The incumbent will work overtime on a mandatory basis when workload or schedule requires. Works in a noisy environment, and frequently stands for prolonged periods of time. Adapt to rotational cross training and accept assignment changes to work hours. Maintains and displays a good temperament and courteous demeanor. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Lift 35 pounds or more on a regular basis.
