The System Operator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of water treatment equipment and meters.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Be available for emergency work after regular working hours, weekends and for scheduled overtime.
Be responsible for operation and maintenance of water treatment equipment and meters located at Company facilities.
Be responsible for the safe handling and accurate measurement and mixing of chemicals and the adjustment of feed equipment and clean up of spills and leaks.
Interpret information to correct operating abnormalities.
Be responsible for adjustment, maintenance and minor repairs to pneumatic controls and sensors.
Must possess a degree of color acuity to distinguish subtle shadings to perform accurate calorimetric determination of chemical concentrations.
Perform mathematical calculations.
Perform heavy lifting and loading up to and including 100 lbs.
Be capable of following written instructions, working without direct supervision and conform to strict safety procedures including the routine use of protective equipment.
A written and field test will be given.
SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL OR REGISTRATION QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. The successful candidate will be acquired to attain a Pennsylvania DEP issued Water System Operators Certification of any level within a one (1) year period.
