Job Summary: This position is located at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital in Loma Linda, CA. The Unit Secretary works under the direction of a registered nurse to perform the secretarial/clerical aspects of patient care; ensures optimum patient flow by utilizing Bed Management Dashboard (BMD) and Interactive Voice Recognition System (IVR) in accordance with policy; serves as department/unit receptionist; maintains inventory of supplies, equipment, and forms; utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize customer service, safety, and professionalism; contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient/visitor population. Performs other duties as needed. Job Specifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous unit secretary experience preferred. One year of college and/or equivalent experience in medical or computer knowledge or previous computer experience preferred. Able to: read; write legibly; and speak in English with professional quality.
