The Project Manager of Information Technology plans, directs and coordinates activities of projects to ensure that benefits of projects are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and budget.
Key Responsibilities
Manages all aspects of projects: requirements definitions and prioritization, development testing, documentation, implementation and support.
Develops and reviews proposed project efforts to determine scope, time frame, funding requirements, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects.
Communicates with technical development and support resources as well as business users to ensure successful implementation of projects.
Collaborates with team members and other department to coordinate the various activities into a single, harmonizes project with common goals and objectives.
Serves as a departmental technical resource to others in the work group and often acts as a coach and mentor with regard to performance.
Directs and coordinates activities of team members throughout the project lifecycle to ensure the project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
Follows up on completed projects to ensure the objectives were met and develops and implements continuous improvements processes.
Communicates project status to technical staff, business owners, and executive management.
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree, from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education, in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field is required.
Project Management certification a plus.
4-6 years related Project Management experience, with at least 2 years as a project leader.
Experience working with multiple SDLC methodologies preferred.
Previous experience in organizing and writing reports.
Strong written and oral communication skills
