Motorola is looking for a self motivated, public safety application data architect to work across development teams supporting the development of an application portfolio.

 



 

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations
This position will help design and develop the data models, data access, data queries and reporting for 911 response features, Public Safety mobility, information management and media management functionality. The candidate must pocess that ability to work as a member of a cross-functional team (engineers, testers, business people), work in a decentralized/self-organizing management structure, be peer-motivated, understand software architecture documents, communicate clearly with others (verbal and written, formally and informally), be flexible in responding to a changing business environment and changing business requirements. The Data Archtiect will support engineers within who are writing production software and all related automated unit tests using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, SQL Server and related tools. The applicant must be capable of working in a continuous integration environment with frequent, automated builds and an automated test suite. Provide application data access review, providing corrective feedback and developer coaching with the developer leads.Provide application architecture review of existing application methods making recommendations of performance & scalability improvements, management updates and standards injection. Provide technical support for existing products relating to data management and data handling.^^ 

Specific Knowledge/Skills
-Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract.-Bachelors Degree-8+ years of experience in application design, architecture, and/or development-8+ years experience with Microsoft SQL Server with C# .Net, C++ and/or other Windows development methods-data architecture experienceKnowledge of the latest Microsoft development tools, languages, developer initiatives and testing procedures Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge and experience with agile development processes and team structures Problem solving skills, interpersonal skills, multi-tasking capability and strong communication skills
